Mother's Day, A Natural Dye & Spring Posy Workshop
On Sunday 3 May, join us for an intimate workshop celebrating natural ingredients to create your very own silk habotai scarf and seasonal posy, a petite, hand-tied bouquet made with unique spring florals. Learn the foundation of natural dyeing and bundle dyeing on silk habotai fabric while extracting pigments from flowers, leaves, onion skins and fruit peels.
No floral experience is needed — you'll learn the fundamentals of bouquet building while developing your own signature style.
Our spring palette features blush tones, warm yellows, citrus hues and fresh greens.
Your ticket includes:
- All materials to make your own naturally dyed silk scarf (8” x 53”) and a hand-held spring posy of unique, seasonal florals

1:45-2 PM – Guest arrival

3:30 - 4:30 PM - Rinse silks, posy creation and simple content capture of guest designs

Brit Floral is the creative vision of Brittany Yang, a floral and event designer whose work has been featured in Martha Stewart, People and Anti-Bride. Brittany has designed a range of intimate and large-scale events, bringing a refined editorial eye to every environment she creates. Brittany’s signature blends natural texture, seasonal movement and quiet luxury into spaces that feel both intentional and alive.

About France:
Born and raised in the Philippines before moving to San Diego, California after university, France Malvar is a former early childhood educator of 14 years. She built her education career teaching children from toddlers to kindergarten and developing curriculum for preschools in both the Philippines and United States. Throughout her teaching years, France also styled weddings, dove into floral design, took classes and an apprenticeship on natural dyeing, and started a business. Different threads but all driven by her creative and thoughtful forms of expressing ideas. In 2020, France made a pandemic pivot when schools shut down and launched her brand- Lu France Interiors where she shares her Naturally Dyed Silk Collection along with a Curated Collection of Home Decor in collaboration with other artists and makers. Through her work, she aims to share her Filipino heritage and the stories of other artisans she works with.
Based in San Diego, California, France shares her love and knowledge of natural dyeing through her collections and through workshops in and out of California. Join her at her workshops and learn how to dye your own silk scarves, pillowcases, ribbons, and more using plants and kitchen waste.
